oh wells i really really havent touched this place for a long time.. well just a quick update on the calender of events tht's been going on for me..after june cts well basically my grades were even worse thn the march cts' results, basically due to the fact tht i spent too much time pursuing an issue with kohliping who was the former team manager of the national team. really wasted alot of time planning my attacks here and there and looking to different sources to ask for advice. but ohwell, at least i won the battle when lhzb so kindly listened to my story and put me in a pitiful state in the subheadlines. jackie and stta have yet to answer to me regarding the remarks and the accusations made by her which i still have on black and white. well i will tell u all more in time to come during which i shall enlighten all on the whole series of events tht happened, which actually started last yr.
july came and thn i fell sick during the middle of it..had a virus attack which started with a fever tht went as high as 40 degrees..was so weak i cldnt even watch tv and all i cld do was just lie in bed and lie in bed.. thts all.. lasted for two weeks which meant my bdae was spent in bed. totally spoilt my study plan for prelims, but well thnk God i still managed to pick up and oh well, now prelims has just ended, and i thnk God for seeing me thru becoz i know without Him it would not haf been possible. yeps i can safely say i'll haf a better showing thn the previous ct.
lol even though now's the time to do wadeva i want for a few days before i start getting back to work, somehow tt has been the last thing on my mind. haha as much as i enjoy it, having fond memories of the experiences it has brought me such as the recent world champs earlier this yr, i guess maybe i'd like to enjoy tt in a different way. more for leisure and destress..haha tht was exactly how i won top10 tht yr..just enjoying tt as much as i cld..
alright will blog again soon, and haha next time it'll be a story on my dealings with the management of ntt, (well if there was even a department taking care of the ntt in the first place. but from wad i rmb, it was just one lady in charge who tot she cld exercise a totalitarian ruling over the team, but well she ended up being too smart for herself)
oh wells cao is going back in just a few hrs time..there goes the times we enjoyed hanging out after/before trng.
when he first came to the youth team in 2005, can see tht the ice was immediately broken due to the fact tht he was just a yr older thn us..cld feel the bond betwn him and a few of us..thn came the good times, such as the shanghai trip at the end of the yr, and the going out after trngs to eat or play arcade/pool. i must say tht the time spent was really more thn i cld ask for as our maturity level was abt the same and the plethora of topics tht we talked abt were also common, and he cld add humour to it lol..our friendship definitely went far beyond the normal coach student relationship. i rmb when i was still in youth team, i wld look forward to trngs as the coach thn was zu and the two of them wld always make my day..the two of them really went hand in hand in entertaining us( bob aaron junyi me), along with jy being the joker and adding even more fun when they took action lol.. i will always rmb the top10 comp in 2005 where he n jy came specially to sit beside the arena and support me in the finals..yea and basically many other small comps we were also able to extend our fun beyond just the playing arena.
thn came the time when i moved up to ntt, though our trng sessions were different, but little changed and jy jenn himself and i wld meet for pool and meals like almost every other week. though there were other distractions here and there in our own individual schedules we still made an effort to hang out..such was the bond in this grp of friends. even though the enjoyable moments stretched to suaning and riducueing amongst us but all was just in the name of fun and none was taken personally..
all in all wad our friendship involved in this grp goes beyond just mere words. cant really type a proper post but all i can say is tht im thankful for being able to enjoy with him during his stint here. the times spent were splendid.. all the best to him and ohwells, hopefully we meet soon..
wad an experience..
just came back from guangzhou from the 2008 world table tennis championships not too long ago..haha i must really thnk God tht i managed to go for this tournament, especially when im not a professional player and i havent been trng much in the recent months.. somehow makes me feel accomplished, and tht all my trngs and time spent has not gone to waste by being able to participate in the world champs.. well if u ask me, i wldnt give up a spot in this tournament for any other thing, and im really glad i was participating in this tournament, esp when the team was playing in the championship division, and despite numerous attempts by some pple in charge of me to make me lose my spot..was really an eye opener, in terms of experiencing things i dun get to experience and getting used to the fast pace of life of the competitors.
left for guangzhou on sat, the 23rd of feb, with xj paeyfern dr comectz and xiewei(professional photographer)..the rest of the team were alrdy in china for trng..haha took SQ which meant we had to go to terminal 3..T3 is not bad..the design and ambience is real good..
didnt take too long to reach there..the hotel was one of best few i've ever stayed in..there was a flat screen tv erm abt 40 inches in each room, in front of the beds, which meant we cld just lie back and watch, and there was internet excess which is normal lol and the international calls to singapore were free haha..wad a world class holiday for me lol..food was up to par also, wide variety of choices..spent alot of time eating haha..i think i put on a few kg after the trip..
shared a room with xiaoli, haha thnk God man coz xj had to room with zhangyong lol and xj always shared abt his experiences lol which included having to carry all zy's rubbish in his bag and having to endure the extremely high level of pollution, which made everything of xj's smell of smoke..
xiaoli is quite a nice guy, haha always have alot to talk and u'll never get bored haha..watched alot of tv together and xj wld always join us becoz no one in his right mind wld wanna endure the smoke there haha..so many things to do man, use the comp, watch tv lol until u wun even think abt sleeping..gao ning and yangzi are quite funny also haha..always like to joke with us..
so basically everyday after breakfast and lunch we wld make our way to the comp arena, the transport service is quite efficient i must say..a bus for each country/team and a shuttle bus tht always goes to and fro every 20 plus minutes..
trng hall not tht bad either, slightly bigger thn stta..the trng hall is two levels underground and the comp hall is on ground level..always haf to walk damn long to the trng hall lol..so basically xj and i wld just be watching them trn lol unless one of them asks us to trn..i tot i'd haf been the one doing their chores for them but it was much better thn i'd expected. probably coz xj had been with them before and he was the one carrying and operating the video cam etc, and secondly, coz the three guys are nice pple who wun order u arnd for the sake of it just becoz u are a reserve lol..
got to see alot of top players there, as well as the different playing styles..lol i think xj and i are the youngest players there, and also the lousiest lol..but without doubt, lol it didnt matter to us and im sure we both enjoyed ourselves and the experience we were offered..
for the championship division, before each match there wld be a marching in ceremony..haha always haf to march in formally and enter the comp arena..pocari sweat was one of the sponsors and we wld just grab a few pocari sweat and keep on drinking it..lol who wants to drink water when there is pocari haha..
after the match which wld usually be at 1pm, we wld go back to rest and we'd have to go back to the trng hall at night to trn lol..at night is our fun time haha..so basically tht wld be our daily routine, which is not very tedious for me lol.
well even though we didnt get to play, but it was still an experience for us, seeing all these world class players up close, being part of the team, seeing different pple from all walks of life arnd the world come together and compete.. got to know the rest of the team better after this trip..really enjoyed myself there..was a relaxing trip for me though..really miss tht trip lol..as good as a holiday haha.
yep so thnk God for watching over me and my team, and for giving me this once in a lifetime experience tht i wld probably never have again..a few pics will be up soon! God bless..
alright it's the end of another year again..haha shall post a brief entry on some happenings of the year to sum up 2007 for me..
for a start, i was still in the playing mood when i entered rjc. despite going overseas often and missing so many classes, i somehow managed to hand up work and assignments as the kind classmates of mine wld always help me. however, this did not mean tht i was catching up with my work as much more than homework was required in jc. constant revision of the topics were the prerequisites of being a good student. hence such were the explanations for my poor results which i got for the promos exam. and to add on to tht, the relaxing mood was still on me as the class was such an enjoyable and fun one to have. there was alot of fun in class and also outside class like the class outings to the movies and for meals.
alright moving on, my first trip of the yr-beijing. went for the invitational comp, and it was also our first trip together as the National training team..and we were privilleged to be joined by a few from the first team such as xiaoli, paey fern and jho. yeps having them also made the trip fun. the food like the Peking duck was definitely one of the best i've ever tasted in my many trips to china.
then came the serious trng for the sea junior, followed by a two week trng trip to hebei..some days were fun, some days were not, sad to say this was not the best team we had this yr for Sea Junior. as such results showed in our trip to Laos for the sea junior shortly after hebei trng trip. somehow i felt i didn't play well, esp for the U18 boys. well i realised shortly tht actually pei coach wasnt the right coach for me.. his coaching style and my playing style dun adapt, nevertheless i still listened to him. but this is something i cannot help and i cant blame others for my shortcomings.
and then, just when i came back from Laos, it was much unfortunate tht i had to learn abt the passing on of one of my closest classmates, thaddeus. gabriel, jeremy thaddeus and myself were always in a grp together, slacking and enjoying in sch. we were all sportsmen and we all had different goals tht we aimed to achieve together. not only the 3 of us were affected, but the class as a whole was definitely affected coz the class was very closely bonded and had enjoyed many fun moments together. such was a time for grieving and searching, it took some time to get over it, but we all knew tht all was God's purpose and tht he was now in a far better place.
so much for sad happenings, but life had to move on. then came the july trip to korea for the Asian Junior.. celebrated my birthday there. the 2nd time i had my bdae overseas. had quite a surprise. the team caught me by surprise late at night, when yl and i were watching dvds in our room..haha..and subsequently after the mini celebration in my room i had to surrender the dvd lol wad a joke.. the trip was a real holiday for all of us..got to eat a few korean delicacies too, such as the bbq meat and the ginseng chicken. of the 8 days in korea i only played comp for 2 days haha. the rest was just sitting back and enjoying the competition and the trip.
after a minor hiccup, the 3rd finally comes =)

lol havent touched this place for quite some time..literally..haha.. really living in the past..will blog one of these days before i leave for thailand..
